And, i went for a run last week and nearly let myself fainted without realizing, and didn't know it was so bad that i couldn't breathe properly after running merely less than 1 km, which is so not like me. I so used to run like 5km? Now is like merely 1 km i already start panting and nearly fainted on my 2km plus running. I am so upset that i couldn't run more than that and at the same time i am worry of the condition. So, i decided to rest till today's review.
I went out at 12noon and went to cck to have breakfast + lunch. And head to SGH right after. After reaching i went to do my blood test than to do a CXR in x-ray department. After all testes, i went to the clinic and wait for my number to be call. After hours and hours of waiting, finally the doctor called me and when i went in, i saw the doctor expression and i knew that something is bad going to happen.
The doctor asked me how's my condition blah blah.. and i told him the above said problems. He told me most likely the asthma could made it worse and asked me to gradually to increase my exercise load in any case my lungs collaspe. He told me that my lungs are cleared and the main issue is the platelets. He informed me that my platelets is still low. Normal person should be somewhere 15o but mine is 130, i was shocked!
And, he mentioned that perhaps due to prolong infection which causes the issue. He suggested to do one more blood test including dengue test to exclude of dengue and next blood test if still show low platelets, he have to refer me to haemotologist for further investigation. *cry out loud*
He also mentioned to observe any signs of bleeding and unknown bruises. As well, he say my current situation i am easily to bleed and bruise as the platelets are still low but not to the extend of death. And, he say if i have bleeding i have to hold more than 5 minutes and so on..
After left the clinic, i totally lost of mood and feel sad that why could this befall one me. My friend said that there's potential might be ?leukemia, i was like.. he told me since my platelets still not as low as dangerous my life and he also mentioned that is already an improvement from 85 to 130, which shows that there's signs of improvement. At least something to be happy about. But i am still worry about it. And hope for the best.
If this situation going to prolong, i doubt i will go into any relationship or even extend of marriage as this condition might inherit to my future children. As well, i doubt no guys would want a gf or a wife to have such condition. I'm totally dishearten about it.. T.T
Oh well, life still have to go.. I try to think in the brighter side.. and share with you what's my current condition.. My current diagnosis is Thrombocytopenia;
"Thrombocytopenia (thrombopenia in short) is the presence of relatively few platelets in blood. Generally speaking, in human beings a normal platelet count ranges from 150,000 to 450,000 platelets per microliter of blood.[1] These limits are determined by the 2.5th lower and upper percentile, so values outside this range do not necessarily indicate disease. One common definition of thrombocytopenia is a platelet count below 50,000 per microliter.
Signs and symptoms
Often, low platelet levels do not lead to clinical problems; rather, they are picked up on a routine full blood count (or CBC, complete blood count). Occasionally, there may be bruising, particularly purpura in the forearms, petechia (pinpoint hemorrhages on skin and mucous membranes), nosebleeds and/or bleeding gums.
It is vital that a full medical history is elicited, to ensure the low platelet count is not due to a secondary process. It is also important to ensure that the other blood cell types, such as red blood cells and white blood cells, are not also suppressed. Painless, round and pinpoints (1 to 3 mm in diameter), petechiae usually appear and fade, and sometimes group to form ecchymoses. Another type of blood leakage (and larger than petechiae), ecchymoses are purple, blue or yellow-green bruises that vary in size and shape. They can occur anywhere on the body from a traumatic injury.
A person with thrombocytopenia may also complain of malaise, fatigue and general weakness (with or without accompanying blood loss). In acquired thrombocytopenia, the patient's history may include the use of one or several offending drugs.
Inspection typically reveals evidence of bleeding (petechiae or ecchymoses), along with slow, continuous bleeding from any injuries or wounds. Adults may have large, blood-filled bullae in the mouth. If the person's platelet count is between 30,000 and 50,000/mm3, bruising with minor trauma may be expected; if it is between 15,000 and 30,000/mm3, spontaneous bruising will be seen (mostly on the arms and legs).
